The Alliance for Empowerment
The Alliance for Economic and Educational Development of the Underprivileged has been formed by a group of concerned members of the civil society—former government servants, persons in public life, academicians and philanthropists. The purpose of the Alliance is to promote education, empower underprivileged communities and NGOs that are involved in the field of education and other institutions engaged in educational and nation building activities. We have experienced that accessibility/affordability to education are imperative to building an enlightened, equitable and empowered society. The Alliance,therefore, will strive to foster collaboration and synergise efforts on issues of access to education and provision of credit to entrepreneurs. This will facilitate an exchange of ideas and best practices and map out a roadmap that contribute towards building a robust, young educated nation. We intend to translate action on ground by bringing together major stakeholders and serve as a bridge to improve education coverage and subsequently the employment scenario in India. While the term ‘underprivileged’ encompasses vast sections, the focus of the Alliance will particularly be on underprivileged youth, women, differently abled and conflict affected populations with an emphasis on backward, aspirational, minority concentrated and Maoist extremism affected districts in India. The motto of the Alliance is to facilitate “Quality Education and Sustained Livelihood for the Underprivileged ” which will lead to their empowerment.
Objectives
- To promote and provide education and to bring under one umbrella NGOs, and Institutions engaged in such activity by creating awareness about and respect for national ideals, education and empowerment of the underprivileged including setting up, assisting, managing or aggregating educational institutions.
- To create synergy, cooperation and coordination amongst all the NGOs and institutions engaged in developing and empowering the underprivileged in India in various domains.
- To work for skill development and economic empowerment of underprivileged including supporting entrepreneurship amongst them by promoting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and including setting up, assisting, managing or aggregating vocational centre or education centre for it.
- To promote and work towards creating a universal brotherhood and to foster a sense of cooperation, mutual harmony, love, affection and mutual respect amongst citizens including by arranging and organising social, cultural, and educational functions and programmes.
- To help the underprivileged when they are in distress by taking up the matter with the concerned authorities and providing legal counsel/aid wherever necessary
- To establish, promote, or assist in any manner, a body or institution involved in helping the underprivileged, or any section of society needing help or support.
- To assist and coordinate towards making basic health care accessible for all in any manner possible.
- To promote and create awareness about the activities of the SOCIETY through any medium be it print, online or others
- To establish and/or manage out of school activity centres for all where they can participate in sports, games, art, music, dance, painting or other activities and also organise educational trips
- To coordinate the efforts to provide food, clothing, medical aid, stationery, transportation, libraries laboratories, reading rooms, hostels, playgrounds and other similar facilities or support to any segment of the population sought to be benefitted by this SOCIETY
- To conduct research in various disciplines be it educational, social or otherwise
